Driver's License and Vehicle Permit for Self-Drive to Tibet

 

For self-drive in Tibet, a provisional Chinese Driver's License and Temporary Vehicle License Plate are required. All the procedures for the vehicle entry of China take about 2 months. It is better to process everything at least 3 months in advance.

Chinese Driver's License

International Driver's License is not applicable in China. Driving in China, you need to apply for a provisional Chinese driver's license. To get this license, you are required to provide your driver's license of your country or the third country as well as take a theory test in local Public Security Traffic Management Bureau. All the contents of the test will be displayed in English or other foreign languages in a computer. Our professional staff will help you with all this procedure.

To self-drive in China, we have to apply for a Temporary Vehicle License Plate for your vehicles. To apply for the plate, the following details are required. Besides, the scan copies of your passport, China visa, drivers' license, vehicle registration certificate, digital colored photo of passport size, colored photo of your vehicles from all sides are also needed.
